Boot Weather

'Tis the season! The cooler weather this time of year allows me to wear one of my favorite accessories: boots!

In my book, fall hasn't officially started until I can wear my Michael Kors boots. This year I'm on the hunt for the perfect pair of ankle booties, so I thought I would put together a smorgasbord of my favorite boot styles this season.

Gobble 'til you wobble!

Happy Thanksgiving, lovelies. Here's a fun throwback to Thanksgiving 2013 when your favorite blondes were together for Turkey Day. Apart this year, but surrounded by family and lots of pie.
We are so thankful to have each other and all of you!!! Thank you!

We'll be back after a bit of R&R.

Tanya Burr
I dare you to watch Tan’s channel and not smile. It’s impossible. She’ll win your heart with her professional makeup tutorials, awesome collabs, and cute baking videos. This cheery Brit will quickly become your BFF and your “why can’t I be that smile-y?” inspo.

Zoella: Zoe Sugg
This quirky girl after my own heart loves Lush, silly faces, and all things beauty. Fair warning: You’re going to have major envy when it comes to her miles-long, perfectly ombré-d hair.

Nikki Phillippi
Somehow both super cool and undeniably dorky, Nikki feels like a big sister providing awesome lifestyle tips. Turn to her for healthy eating, DIYs, advice, and buckets of iced tea.

October Favorites!

We've officially bid adieu to the month of October, but our love for these fashion, beauty, food, home, media, and culture picks has just begun! Check out what we couldn't get enough of last month.

BP Popcorn Stitch Infinity Scarf. Confession: I love this scarf so much I bought it in two colors! It is perfectly cozy and makes a super pretty layering piece for fall -- lightweight and easy to wear, but will provide some extra warmth. This will be your go-to infinity scarf of the season! The great price point is just icing on the cake. ♡L

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo. Lauren left her shampoo at my house so I used it and I LOVE it. Don’t worry, I am going to send you another one, Lo :) I feel like it gave my hair so much volume and helped with the brassiness that often happens to us blondes. This shampoo also lathers really well so you don’t have to use a ton of it at one time! ♡T

Boots Botanics Super Balm. My face has been super dry and flaky because of all my recent travel and I had totally run out of moisturizer, so I picked this up for less than $9 at Target and wasn’t expecting much. Spoiler alert: It’s awesome. It kind of looks and feels like you’re rubbing Chapstick all over your face, but it is super moisturizing and has totally transformed my skin -- great bang for your buck! ♡L

Nasty Gal Shirt Cut Dress. I love this LDB because it’s cozy and can transition from day to night. It’s easy and flowy so you can wear it with sandals or you can dress it up by pairing it with heels and jewelry. This little number is also only $38.00! Not too shabby.  ♡T

La Bocca Urban Pizzaria + Wine Bar. When Lauren was in town I took her to one of my favorite restaurants: La Bocca! La Bocca has delicious salad, pizza, pasta, drinks and appetizers! I always order the med plate (pictured), which has cheese, olives, hummus, baboonish and pita bread. I’m also a huge fan of their goat cheese and pear salad. When we went there, we ordered Moscow Mules and those were also fabulous. I highly recommend this trendy spot! ♡T

Tuscany Candle in Pumpkin Spice. I love candles and I normally have one lit at all times. Fall candle scents, like this one, are particularly amazing. This candle filled my entire apartment with a pumpkin scent and has actually lasted quite awhile considering I bought it at the beginning of October. ♡T

AppleTV. I honestly don’t know how I survived before this thing. Switch between Netflix, Hulu, and regular TV all on your big screen! Yay! No more holding your toasty Mac for hours on end. #firstworldproblems #blondeproblems? ♡L

Bigelow Eggnogg'n Tea. As soon as Egg Nog hits the shelves, I freak. I’ve already bought two cartons. Oops. Here’s a lower-cal Egg Nog inspired treat to warm you up this holiday season. ♡L

"Not That Kind of Girl" by Lena Dunham. I love the show Girls so naturally I had to get Lena’s book! I think her honesty and willingness to be so real and share her experiences is refreshing.  ♡T

The Carrie Diaries. I am slightly embarrassed to admit how much I loved this show. I didn’t watch it when it was on air because I thought it was too “young” or "cheesy" or "spinoff-y" or something, but now this quickly became my go-to show for when my BF was out of town and I’m majorly bummed that there won’t be new seasons!! I think you’ll love it, too! Both seasons are on Netflix. ♡L

MAC x Nasty Gal. MAC + Nasty Gal?! Only the two best things on Earth. That might be a slight exaggeration, but I mean really, how can you not be pumped for this one? Loving the vampy lippies! Obsessing now, but this won't be available until December! ♡L

Gilmore Girls on Netflix. I started re-watching Gilmore Girls in the last part of this month, now that it is streaming on Netflix. I loved this show when I was growing up, so it is fun to re-watch it and experience everything again. It may take me awhile to get through it again, though, considering Fall TV is back when a vengeance. It’s getting harder to keep up with all of the shows I watch! ♡T

Which Ingredient Is Best? Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide or Glycolic Acid?

Your cleanser will most likely contain one of the following ingredients: Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, or Glycolic Acid. All three are great ingredients for treating acne and keeping your skin regulated, but they are used for different reasons. When determining what cleanser you should use, it would be helpful to know what type of care your skin requires.

From left to right: Kate Somerville salicylic cleanser - Proactiv + benzoyl peroxide cleanser - Murad glycolic acid cleanser

I spoke with my Esthetician, Jordan Smith, at Dolce Salon and Spa to better understand what exactly these acne-fighting ingredients do for our skin. Here's what she said:

September Favorites

We've officially bid adieu to September, but our love for these fashion, beauty, food, home, media, and culture picks has only just begun! Check out what we couldn't get enough of last month.

Grand Central Divaz Boutique Hudson Jeans. This month I purchased a pair of Hudson jeans from Divaz Boutique and I am obsessed with them! The cut is perfect (no hemming required) and they fit like a glove! Just for trying them on, I received a raffle ticket for a contest they were doing and I received an additional 10 raffle tickets for purchasing them. If I win, I will receive another pair for free! Here's hoping.... ♡T

Rebecca Minkoff Hudson Moto Mini Crossbody. This was an August buy, but I'm still seriously in love with my bag. It's the perfect size to fit my on-the-go essentials: wallet, Ray-Bans, iPhone, keys and a few lipsticks! ♡L

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. The only face wash I've found that doesn't dry out or irritate my skin. The balm turns into a luxuriously silky oil to remove makeup and grime from your face with ease. ♡L

Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment. I've had a few bad breakouts recently so I thought I would give the EradiKate acne treatment a try and, to my delight, I saw improvement after just one use! It has a strong smell so this may not be the treatment you want to use when your significant other is over, but I tend to think the products that have stronger odors are the ones that get the job done. ♡T

How To Find The Perfect Lipstick For Your Skin Tone

One of my friends is venturing out for the first time in the lipstick department and asked me for advice on what shade she should wear, so I thought I'd put together a "How To" guide for first-timers.

Some of my favorites: MAC Up The Amp. YSL Bright Hibiscus Pink. MAC RiRi Woo. Gerard Gloss Wild Orchid. YSL Nude Beige. MAC Show Orchid. (I am loyal to MAC and YSL ask you can see...)

We’re Falling for These Autumn Beauty Trends

Autumn is officially here! It's time for cozy layers, scarves, PSLs, floppy hats, and one-too-many Instagram pics with fallen leaves. We are dying to get in on the fall trends, but the weather is woefully stuck in summer mode (hellooo, Dallas and Phoenix heat!) If you're in the same boat, why not try some fall hair/makeup/nails trends on for size?

Why it's OK to be single

In Hawaii- 2008

While trying to decide what I wanted to write about this week, I was in the middle of a conversation about my single-status so naturally this post is the product of that topic.

I've done a lot of thinking on this matter, but I always have the same question: Why, in a society that (now) encourages women to be CEO's and to be equal with our male counterparts, are women still constantly harassed if we aren't dating someone, engaged or married?

Personally, I would like to get married some day, have a family and still do something that I'm passionate about, but I'm in no hurry. I am only 23-years-old, fresh out of college, in my first real job, yet I'm constantly harassed regarding this issue.

Whether you're the first child looking to set an example or the last hoping to meet the same expectations as those who came before you, enough is enough. Set your own bar, live life on your own timeline and enjoy your single time while you still can, because once someone else is in your life even some very basic aspects of your single-status will change forever.

I want to remind all the single ladies out there why it's OK to be single and, better yet, why you should enjoy this time.

7-Step Facial Routine for Skin Perfection!

Breakouts bumming you out? Skin feeling dull and dry? No matter what your skin issue is, this 7-step facial routine is going to give you the complexion you've been coveting.

7- Step Facial
Here is my favorite seven-step facial routine I learned from Kate Somerville's book Complexion Perfection! With each of these steps, make sure you are tailoring the products to your own skincare needs.

1. Cleanse
2. Steam
3. Exfoliate
4. Extractions***
5. Treatment Mask
6. Hydrate & Moisturize
7. Eye Treatment

In my Pamper Evening Essentials post, I mentioned a "6-step routine" that I love. Well, obviously I always forget to do the last step....oops!! Hopefully my eyes will forgive me!

Read Kate's book to learn which ingredients are best for your skin type. Because my skin tends to dull, dry, and flaky, I've chosen products with hydrating and moisturizing ingredients.

Introducing...Sew Sorority!

Ever look at your dresser drawer and think....

If you're anything like me, your dresser drawers are stuffed with t-shirts from sorority/fraternity life, school, sporting activities and etc... They're probably shirts that have some significance and make you nostalgic of whatever memory it's associated with, but you feel too old to be wearing it and, frankly, just have way too many.

9 Easy Ways to be More Active Today

School’s back in session, and chances are you’re spending the majority of your day on your bum. Even if you’ve got a job that requires you to stand all day long --like me-- your 9 to 5 isn’t doing your body much good. Whether you're a hard charging athlete or a self-proclaimed couch potato, increasing your daily activity level will improve your health and help you achieve your fitness goals.

I chatted up my favorite personal trainer and lifestyle coach (and boyfriend) Michael Bryson Wilson on how to add in more activity throughout the day. This is what I learned:

  • Instead of calorie-laden brunch/dinner/drinks dates with your friends, focus your meet-up around an activity such as yoga, a walk through the park, or even something silly like Laser Tag. Your get-together doesn’t have to be food-centric!
  •  Play outside! Dance around the kitchen! Try to add in more fun, goofy moments to your day. You'll be happier and healthier.

My Favorites: Hair + Skin + Makeup

My friends know that I am a beauty enthusiast, a Sephora regular and have my esthetician's email readily on hand, so they often come to me with questions and advice on what products to buy.

There are some products that I have been using regularly or instantly fell in love with and swear by. I decided I would put together a list of my favorite products this week, from my favorite face mask to my favorite lipstick and, hopefully, help you find your next favorite product!
Enjoy!

Pack Like a Pro! Travel Tips for the Beauty + Fashion Obsessed.

Getting through the airport unscathed can be tricky. It's 6 a.m. and you're already feeling rough. Starbucks wasn't open when you left your apartment to catch a cab, and now you have to take off half your outfit, unpack your electronics, and cram your beauty essentials into a tiny, clear bag. Ugh, so not glamorous. At least once you get through security, there's coffee and SkyMall calling your name.

For carry-on beauty must-haves, get a clear zippered pouch to avoid security line drama. One Truffle makes amazing travel bags that fit TSA-guidelines, which means less work, and no plebeian Ziplock baggies, for you.

Here's what I'd throw in mine!

August Favorites + GIVEAWAY!!!

We've officially bid adieu to August, but our love for these fashion, beauty, food, home, media, and culture picks has only just begun! Check out what we couldn't get enough of last month.

Aluminum RayBan Clubmasters. Okay, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't actually buy this exact pair of RayBans. I loved the bronze frame, so I had someone in the sunglasses department swap out the bronze, un-polarized lenses for gray, polarized. I'm high maintenance like that, apparently. These are the 51 mm lens: Don't knock Clubmasters until you try on both sizes. ♡L
Free People Frosted Fair Isle Cardigan. Even though it will be warm in Arizona for quite awhile, I couldn’t help myself when I saw this cozy and cute cardigan! I love the length and look of this staple piece for my fall wardrobe. ♡T
DryBar Mai Tai Spritzer. Summer may be coming to a close, but I’m still loving my natural beachy waves! I talked about wanting this product in an old Want It Wednesday post and ever since I bought it I haven’t been able to stop using it. It smells wonderful and gives my hair the extra volume I need! ♡T
Santa Maria Novella 'Alba di Seoul' Eau de Cologne. I can't stop raving about everything I got from my recent trip to LAFCO! This stuff is especially yummy as it's somehow sweet, spicy, and fresh. Here's a more educated description from SMN themselves: "Its bouquet of fresh green and crisp top notes introduces an intense heart characterized by Korean pine and lead woody oriental base notes." ♡L

Etsy Mail Organizer/Chalkboard Message Center/Coat Hook Rack. I spend too much time on Etsy, but I keep getting so lucky with my findings! The two mail slots are perfect for my roommate and I, we’ve been using the hooks for our keys and we plan on buying chalk to write our favorite quotes or inspirational messages on the chalkboard! It took about a month for the Etsy seller to make and ship this, but it is extremely well made and looks great by our front door! ♡T
French Press. I grabbed this one at a recent trip to Target and it has totally overhauled my mornings! Now I can make more than one cup at a time, yippee! I'm trying to get into Bulletproof Coffee, but to be honest, I'm still pretty attached to my yummy Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened, condensed milk... ♡L
Chia Seed Pudding. It's kind of outrageously delicious. Here's the super simple recipe I love: 1 1⁄4 cups almond milk, 1 tablespoon raw honey, 4 tablespoons chia seeds, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Shake up and refrigerate for several hours, or overnight. Makes a yummy dessert, or even breakfast! ♡L
White Cheese, Spinach and Chicken Lasagne. This month my roommate and I tried this delicious lasagne that we will definitely be making again! The flavor was amazing and super creamy. The recipe calls for cubed chicken, but I bought a rotisserie chicken from the deli, which was fresh and tasted great! ♡T

Beauty Crush on YouTube. Sammi is one of my absolute favorite YouTubers! I love her bubbly, quirky personality. She has gorgeous makeup tutorials, lookbooks, and more. ♡L
Orange is the New Black. I am a huge fan of the Netflix series, so of course I had to buy the book! The book contains several differences from the show but I love it just the same. It is a fascinating read and gives insight into the flawed prison system, especially for women and, more specifically, drug-related crimes. ♡T
The Cuckoo's Calling. I know I just posted this in my Pamper Evening + Spa Essentials post, but I am seriously obsessed! J.K. Rowling is one of my favorite authors of all time, and she's just as good under her more masculine pen name! This P.I. thriller is so much fun to read. ♡L
Game of Thrones. I know I’m late to the game (pun intended), but I started watching Game of Thrones this past week and haven’t been able to stop! I am embarrassed to say what season I am on after such little time...but I definitely did some binge-watching over the Labor Day Weekend. GoT has a little something for every viewer including several different plot lines. So, if your current favorite character dies, there is usually someone else you can root for! ♡T

Well, goodbye summer. That's it for our August faves. Can you believe it's September?! At least you have a rad end-of-summer giveaway to keep your spirits high!

The Perfect Pamper Evening! (& My Spa Essentials)

There are few things more perfect than a spa day. When we girls get home, y'all know the first order of business is hair up, makeup off, cozies on! After a long day of work, it's nice to come home and #treatyoself. Put down the Ben & Jerry's and opt for a Pamper Evening.

When I treat myself to a pamper evening, I go all out with a facial, a hair mask, and a soak in the tub.

What's Causing Your Breakouts? 5 Surprising Culprits

http://bit.ly/1mGqcc8
I've always had a hard time finding the right products and routine to get my skin under control and free from breakouts. Because of this I spent time testing out different products, I took antibiotics and I tried several treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasions, laser therapy, and exfoliation.

I am happy to say that in high school I was able to get it under control and when my skin changed in college I also managed to get through that. Every now and then I still get a few bad breakouts, which leads me to go through my list of possible causes.

Layering for Fall: Don't Ditch Those Sundresses Yet!

Summer's winding down, but all you want to do is grab a snowcone and head outdoors. The last thing you can think about right now is your fall wardrobe. Who wants to buy cashmere and wool when it's 100°? If you can't bear to push your brand new sundresses to the back of your wardrobe, listen up!

Even your summeriest of pieces can be souped up for next season: It's all in how you layer your look.

Extend the life of these three quintessential summer dresses with a simple change in footwear -- ditch the flip flops for something sturdier -- and the addition of a layering piece.

ASOS Dress in Patchwork Print // Top Shop Faux Fur Gilet Vest // ASOS 'Absolutely Fine' Leather Ankle Boots.

Pop on a furry vest and some ankle boots and you'll forget this frock ever doubled as a beach coverup.

3 Day Fruit Flush Diet

Photo: http://bit.ly/1te1xAm
I've been traveling a lot this summer eating all kinds of foods that aren't necessarily good for me. I've decided I want to do a cleanse to rid my body of the toxic food I consumed and to jump start my metabolism, getting my nutrition back on track.
